After the dinner that I blogged about yesterday, there was this Admiral 5A Charity Run in Klang the following day, which was last Sunday. By the time I got back, it was already 12am, and I remembered I only forced myself to sleep at 1230am. Woke up at 5am, and reached Klang in one hour. There were a lot of youngsters nowadays. As in, secondary school kids. Which is a good thing? I don't know. But either way, I know I'm getting my finisher medal in this run. LOL.
We flagged off at 7am sharp, only the category A runners, which is men's open of a certain age group. The veteran runners were flagged off probably 10 minutes later. But guess what, 2km down the route, the first veteran runners overtook me. He's much older, but he's much faster! Slowly, or rather straight after, one by one, I was overtaken by the other runners, the ones who were flagged off later. And by the time I jogged till the 4th km, the first woman runner overtook me. Talking about inferiority complex!
The route was along the road heading towards Port Klang, flat, straight and well, I supposed we caused quite a heavy jam that morning. Anyways, seeing the runners ahead of me, all in yellow jersey, it was quite a sight. Yellow. So yellow...
So I made the u-turn of the 5th km at 40 minutes. Not a good timing. No excuses this time. I was slow alright. 2km after the u-turn, we joined the 6km runners, where a whole chunk of them are the school kids, and they just walked all the way I think...
After coming down from a hill smacked right outside the starting line, I finally ran back into the stadium clocking quite a poor time. 1 hour 13 minutes. Somewhere there. I know I know, some people could easily go in less than an hour, I'm sure some of the veteran runners did too. But anyhows, I still got my medal right?
It was quite a huge one, this medal. Simple, but very nice indeed. :D Happy happy joy joy!
