A good teacher in a medical school, is a practitioner who teaches, who allow the students to make mistake without shouting into their ears too much, but with appropriate tone and voice. Someone who, take classes despite tight schedule, and teach everything needed in just that one hour of exposure without adding in all those unnecessary bull talk. Someone whose words that come out from the mouth, every single words count. Someone who, gets the liking from all her students. Like, everyone, literally everyone I talked to, likes her.
And we've got just one who taught us last couple of weeks. One who is so famous that the society knows her. One who is also one of the pioneer surgeon in her field.
Cousin-in-law practicing cardiothoracic surgery talked to me during the gathering we had at Grandpa's birthday, giving me a short prep talk on how to get ready for the finals. And she came up. Like, even he, who graduated from a different medical school and practicing in a different hospital, heard of her. But then again, he probably had class with her before as she's like, the top surgeon in the country, in her sub-specialty that is.
And she would never cease to amaze me, although I might've failed her once in the class where well... Sigh... But she gave me another chance after demonstrating one. So.. yeah... She never fails to amaze me.
And they say, a good teacher is someone who influenced you, directly or indirectly, into what specialty you would eventually specialize in.
I wonder... I really wonder. Mr. Medie? Hmmmm...
