On Terminating Maxis

Call me someone who is not loyal, but ever since there's Unifi at home, I just couldn't resist going home to have my high-speed connection. Despite all the rebate and HUGE-ARSE home theatre system they gave me, 3 years of subscription probably is long enough. It's been almost 2 months since I stopped using my own broadband connection, but still not terminating the account, mainly because I thought I might still need it when the connection in the hostel broke down. SO I thought of keeping it. But now... I thought I was just paying them for nothing! So this morning, I took the chance and went out catching some snakes to the Maxis Service Centre.

See, the service centre in the Curve where I usually go to pay my bills, didn't do termination services. I waited for 30 minutes a week back and came to the counter to be told that I need to go to the main service centre to terminate my account. KLCC's just too far, and the other that he mentioned was the one in TTDI. The previous experience in KLCC was also very frustrating. I remembered I was looking for my payment history, but ended waiting for almost 1 hour just for a consultation of less than 2 minutes. -.-"

So this morning, bearing in mind the service centre might be very crowded, especially since TTDI's a business centre with limited parking, I took my time looking for a proper parking to avoid being issued summonses. Termination of an account, from our past experience in KLCC, was a bitch as the officer would drag and waste time and you'd be waiting for hours on end.

Which was why, I think that's the sole purpose of the existence of San Francisco Coffee Kiosk in a small service centre! At least they did something to curb the frustration. Buy one free one. Would've been great if it's for free innit? LOL.

I was pretty surprised that it was already my turn in 10 minutes. When I said I want to terminate my account, the officer didn't dilly-dally and just asked for my modem. Within 10 minutes, the task was settled.

I looked at him in disblief, "That's all?"

"Yes sir."

That's... fast. LOL.

I'd have thought they'd try to talk me into keeping the line you see. Or maybe offer me something so that I would keep to Maxis or what not. I even came up with some really wicked reason and practice in answering him sarcastically. I anticipated for all sorts of questions and offer. But, NONE? That's why I was so surprised. And I actually paid for a parking duration of 2 hours. -.-"

Alas, it was done. I'm enjoying my high-speed connection very much. :D

What... They didn't maintain their quality. What a disappointed moment. Their quality is always as slow as a snail... Especially in this technology era.
