On Pasar Malam Starbucks

Admittedly, I go to Starbucks quite often. Same goes to Coffee Bean. But having said that, since there was this bloody promotion on Christmas Wish thingy that Starbucks put on where you'd get a 2010 planner if you purchased 11 grande beverages from them, I thought my expenses have increased tremendously for the past few weeks.

Despite that, it's not like I just go in to buy the drinks and sit there staring at the ceiling. I of course would've brought some stuff along. Books. Lappie. Something that could keep me preoccupied. Although the last time I was there, I was actually waiting for a friend who came somewhat 30 minutes later.

But anyways, what I was trying to say was, having been quite a regular to the different Starbucks outlets in the Klang Valley, there's one thing about Malaysian that I noticed. Somehow it seemed like Starbucks is pretty much a normal beverage and the shop is like a hang out place. More often than not, I see big groups of people gathering inside Starbucks catching up or chit-chatting. It's good, really. I would've made Starbucks one of my place to hang out if I were to meet up with some of those fancy classmates who studied overseas savouring English Tea on a Sunday afternoon. But the thing that annoys me most was, most often than not, these people gather in Starbucks and talk like they're at home.

They talk so loud until you could practically know what they're talking about! Guess what guys, I'm gonna organize an orgy in my new apartment in Vista KLCC this weekend, bring chem! That slutty boyfriend of Serena was saw holding hands of this young twink in Liquid! Bloody hell, I heard my mum moaning last night, both my parents are in their 60s!!! Have you heard about Roland? He's now a she! I remember when I first met you 10 years ago! You were like, changed 360 degrees! Look at you now!

Like what the *toooot*?!?!??!

Even if I were to find entertainment in gossiping, I would appreciate it if they would keep the voice down. What more when you have them all in group of 10 plus sitting around the study table playing whatever stupid card games; or the next group of newly-weds squirming "Hiieeeeee" in this high pitch voice as if wanting to break all the glassware when she saw her long lost friend; or the pretty lady who laughed so loud just to be competitive with the noise made by the next table.

What a scene!
