I solemnly swear these photos are of me and only me, and whatever emotions you saw and perceive shall be all but what it was.
I've got free eye make up...
We got quite some scoldings the other day from the fiercest professor in ObGyn department because well, just our luck, we got caught not going to on-calls, and no one has any fresh case to present other than post-operative cases, which left her fuming.
"There is nothing else I can do? What do you expect me to teach you when you have no cases to discuss on? What is there to discuss on in a post-operative case? I will not teach, until all of you do your work."
She's fierce, really. She walked in with an aura, from what I heard. She opened the door, and peeked in and instantly the room was quiet even the heartbeat could be heard. Oh yeah, we've long heard of her fiercesome. Even the nurses are scared of her.
"I wonder what's gotten into your mind. Medical students nowadays are just so different. Maybe all of you are a new breed. If this is how you're going to behave, I reassure you, you will be less than half as good as me. And I shall not hesitate to write in and ask for an extension of this posting, and I will do it when you're enjoying your study weeks before your final MBBS exams next year."
She's got her points. All her points hit straight to the head. We were shaking underneath the table as she was asking us one by one what have we clerked.
"Post-op."
"Post-op."
"Post-op."
"What kind of rubbish are these? Who were on call last night?"
Silence.
"NO ONE? No one was on call last night?"
Instantly, her face changed.
"Is this how you all study medicine nowadays? No wonder at the end of the posting no one knows D&C was done at night. No wonder none of you know what ruptured ectopic pregnancy is. No wonder none of you seen what all these emergencies are! You're suppose to be here at night, and when there's any cases, you'll scrub in, and see what the MOs or the Specialist on call are doing. Yet all of you prefer to what, sleep in your room? If that's what all of you wanted, might as well don't do medicine!"
"This is literally rubbish."
Her stare alone was sharp enough to make any man pee in their pants. I mean, I thought I've gone through worse, and I thought I wouldn't be bothered with all these bitchy consultants anymore. But whadya know, I was as timid as a mice when she looked at my direction.
"No wonder when you graduate, you go to your mummy complaining the consultants torture you to go to on-calls. And the next day your daddy call us up and started scolding. And before you know it, there's complaints in the newspaper that housemens are being tortured. Because now you never go and experience it. Medical school is suppose to be a platform to prepare you for the real world tomorrow. And if this is how you behave, do you think you can accept the shock when you graduate?"
The last I heard, she actually scolded a final year student until she cried just because she never saw her on-call on the day she herself was on-call. Poor senior had to be saved by the staff nurse clarifying that the student was there practically every night, and just so coincidentally, she wasn't scheduled for on-calls when the consultant was.
So I shall now hippoty hoppity hop... On call again tomorrow night... With my vampire looking eyes...

Ghost ar....
vampire ar...
look scare!
It would be good to check if she is on call beforehand and show your faces when she's there.
And it is wise to ask seniors what kind of cases she likes, how she conducts her case discussion and what not to do in her presence. Most importantly, prepare your subject adequately (though I'm prone to do it in excess) before meeting her.
Being a medical student is not only about working hard but also working smart. Time is precious. :)
Oh what a lovely thick bush you have up there! Down there leh? LOL...
Feng Shui experts warned that one need to pluck the hair in between brows to prevent a bridge.
I think you are a very sensitive and smart guy, so no worries. It's a matter of seconds that you will always control situations and not let situation controls you.
