Now I know this is an exaggeration... But I visited Dong Zen Temple for the 3rd time today (1st, 2nd). Before you ask, I really do have a reason. Maybe a few... But well, rest assured I guess I visited the temple enough to say I finally toured the whole place. The third time...
Apparently, Mum was getting overly anxious and nervous for a THABSO surgery scheduled the week after next. She couldn't be calmed by the gynaecologist, rest assured myself and the rest of the family. I told her whatever I know about the surgery. Even asked my friends and colleagues if there are anything I missed. She was better at first, but her anxiety came back and well, Sis texted me saying she's got cold feet today. Broke down even during lunch and was so determined not to undergo the surgery. That was when I was already on my way there.
Earlier, after meeting the special one, I was thinking of dropping by at another friend's place before going back to Klang. But he said he was going to the temple tonight as there's some cultural show whatsoever. I wasn't really interested. But I did have the thought of visiting again.
Maybe not quite for the photography this time round, but instead, I was going to go pray for the health and well-being of the whole family. The previous 2 visits, I didn't even entered the main praying hall.
Therefore I called up the colleagues back in college while I was approaching the hostel. Roomie didn't pick up the phone. KS was out with his friends. CT going out celebrating the gf's b'day, same goes to KW. YL was away at gf's hometown. So finally resolved to calling up one of the groupmembers. Amazingly, before we leave the hostel, I saw the roomie... And one thing led to another, we set out with 4 people including myself.
Traffic was bad. Maybe because it's a Sunday. And since it's also Thaipusam. And that it's going to end so very soon... Therefore the cars queuing all the way from Jenjarom to the junction of Kesas highway. LOL. Okay maybe not that long. But it was quite bad. So you can imagine the crowd there tonight.
Since all of us went there before, so we weren't really excited like how we were. And I went straight to the main praying hall. Gotten the josstick, kneeled before the huge Buddha statue, prayed, and went around taking in the grandeur. Also paid for this lamp thingy, to be lighted at the wall of the prayer hall, so called to bless the one who bought one, whole year round. And there goes Dad's name as the leader of the family. After that, I followed the offering of lights ceremony.
Funny thing was, my candle got blew out because I was coughing. In the middle of the chanting ceremony...
There was the costume parade after the offering of lights ceremony. I thought it was pretty lame though. Lots of Indians apparently. LOL. No offence. Just a friendly remark. I thought it was a good efford though.
I left halfway throughout the parade and entered the souvenir shop. Alan was looking for English Buddhist Hymns. True enough, English Buddhist Hymns are hard to come by. I got myself 2 CDs, totally in love with it. :D Just that, the problem is... The CDs make this sound like it cannot be played properly on the player in the car, despite the songs being melodiously calming our nerves. Trying it on the lappie didn't help either, though there was improvement. But songs can't be ripped, and ended my whole Windows Media Player jammed up.
Shall see if it's exchangable. Yea you guessed it right. It'll be with the other groupmembers on the night of the 15th day of CNY. Record holder here! MUAHAHA.
Oh well... there's always a thought of joining a monastery anways. LMAO.
