On Meeting Justice Pao

I was tired. It was noon time, and I just woke up from my lunch-break nap. I moved my arse anyways. There was the environmental health lecture. How are we suppose to deal with rubbish, to appreciate our water source, to execute human waste and what not. So I brought along the handbook, and place it on the table. That's what everyone else was doing anyways.

It wasn't long before I found out the colleague was finally coupled with the houseman.

Medie: So you guys are together already?
Colleague: What do you mean?
Medie: You and him... They say you guys been going out a lot.
Colleague: Well... Erm...
Medie: So are you guys together or not?
Colleague: Actually yeah...
Medie: Oh... okay... Erm.. Congrates...

Then the conversation turned to some other thing.

I was with the one whom I've been seeing for the past few weeks. Just after our supper and we were heading towards her car.

Date: Okay. Buh-bye. Drive safe.
Medie: Yeah. You too.
Date: No kiss?

I leaned forward and gave her a peck on the lips. Just a swift brief one, we were after all in a public car park. And she closed the door, I turned around and headed to my car. Before I knew it, my legs spun me around and I was walking back to her car, and we had another French kiss. A longer one.

Medie: My breath stinks...
Date: Yeah! I tasted Murtabak...
Medie: *laughs*

And then the scene changed. I was in the lecture room. I heard the lecturer telling us about garbage management. That every Malaysians produced how huge loads of rubbish everyday and everything.

It struck me then that I was actually asleep. I was resting my forehead on the edge of the table. Must've dozed off in the afternoon class. I tried to wake myself up. But I just couldn't seem like I could. My eyes were wide shut. And my hands and legs were like tied and glued. I worked all my might to try to lift my head up. But the effort was in vain.

When finally I woke up, I looked around and saw the other collagues listening attentively to the lecture. I stood straight and tried to flip the pages of the handbook. Was literally trying so very hard to open my eyes.

Colleague: Finally woke up already.
Medie: Yeah... Sorry about that.
Colleague: Why not just sleep in the room? Since you're so tired, and you're here sleeping away anyways.
Medie: There's air-con here.
Colleague: *laughs*

Just a few minute later, I realized my brain was fooling me. My eyes were still tightly shut, and my legs were still glued to the floor. I moved my legs with all my might. But I didn't seem to buldge. My arms were actually hanging freely, but they wouldn't move either.

After a good long 2 minutes, I finally got my right foot shifted. And I woke up. My heart beating so fast I felt it would fall out anytime.

I was wide awake. And it was just another 2 minutes before the lecture ended. What a relief. I wonder what would happen if I didn't manage to wake myself up...

I get the paralysis frequently when I was younger. Naturally when I first experiencing it, I panicked and tried to shout to get help but couldn't do so. Later, from experience, I figured that the best way is simply to stay calm for about 5 mins and I could then move.
