On Attending a Jazz Concert

Right. Following the Photomarathon on Saturday morning, I decided to be present at the YKLS's Jazz concert that night. Was juggling on which day since about a week ago when Glog invited. Initial date was on Friday, but was waiting for the confirmation of Frank as he really was working odd hours. Reason being, I wouldn't want to drive back home after the concert, so I thought I would be able to sleep over at his place till Saturday, which was his off day. But things turned out unexpected when I found out I was on-call on Friday night that, I had to postpone the date and made a last minute decision. Poor Frank, applied for a leave on Saturday, and replaced work for Sunday...

But anyhow, I went over to his place for shower and change into something more decent after the red Canon shirt were stained with foul smell of the sweat from running here and there in the day. Just a shower, and place my bag of clothes for change since I would be sleeping over that night anyways. And we were pretty late in leaving his apartment. To top that, both of us didn't know where the heck KL Pac was. So imagine the panic triggered when all the colleagues he contacted never heard of KL Pac. I had to resolved to calling Glog and asked him to give us directions.

When we reached the performance centre, familiar faces of the blogger brotherhood were already present. Been eons I think, since I last met up with them. Amazingly, that frog travelled all the way from Seremban as well! How supportive! It was my first time seeing the expat as well...

We finally went into the hall, and sat pretty far up. Brought camera along, but was pretty disappointed when the we were told photography and recording wasn't allowed without prior permission. (which I later on found out that, it doesn't matter!) Kek sim arhhh!!! Found some really nice photos on facebook anyways.

It was a grand view when the entire choir went on stage. What's more when everyone was in formals. White shirt, black slacks. Some in ties some in vest. Very sleek I'd say. And woot! Glog was actually doing this... introduction on What is Jazz thing...

And then the sensational Gina came in. Her voice... She took my breath away...

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of jazz. So yea, I wasn't really enjoying myself from the start. Everyone seemed so darn serious in black and white. But I got to say, I'm pretty captivated by their performance. I like the quartet.

And I have to admit the Bulgarian wedding song was darn nice! If only it was longer...

This short play after the wedding song... o.O ... I had a good laugh no doubt. Thumbs up for their brave performances.

I personally like the 2nd half more. When the choir came back in with colourful tees and white pants. Everyone seemed more lively and cheerful.

When the whole show was drawing near to the ending, I totally enjoyed the song. And for the conductor to bring in the audience, the atmosphere was finally liven up. It was fun fun and FUN.

Although, I'm telling you, I didn't play along. Bad I know. But I had fun watching the caucasian couple next to me trying to pronounce the mandarin words of "wo, yao, ni, de". Lady was being cautious at first. But when she finally got the hang of it, she was shouting! And she totally enjoyed herself.

It was the first time of such a concert. Looking forward to more...
