On Beijing in Photos #16: Mini Canal
The emperor constructed the building of this canal on the ground in one of the many gardens in the palace. According to the guide, the canal was actually filled with following water. So one would sit on the end of the 'river' and start of reciting a poem or such and the other would be floating a cup of wine or something down the river. And by the time the cup reached the end and he had not come up with a complete poem, he'd get toasted to. Or something like that.
Creative minds eh?
