Seriously, it is the MUST-VISIT temple in Beijing, according to the locals; although it is not sitting on-par with the Great Wall or the Forbidden City. But boy was I glad we took time to explore Beijing free and easy. This temple is just be-au-tee-full.
Built during the reign of Emperor Yong Zheng in the Qing Dynasty, this beautiful temple survived the cultural revolution. And it has since become one of the largest and most important Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in the world.
Didn't have any photos of the Buddha statue inside the temple, but it is breath-taking. That's all I could say. LOL
