On the Below Knee Amputation

CAUTION: This series of photos are not for the weak-hearts...

Surgery: Below knee amputation

1. Prep the subjected leg.

2. Start cutting.

3. Bone cutter to cut the fibula. Fibula to be cut deeper into the flesh, i.e. shorter than tibia.

4. Gigli saw used to saw the tibia.

5. LEG OUT!!!!!!!!!

6. Suture the gastrocnemous flap over the tibia after filing the tibia.

7. Leg's a stump, but a life is saved.

more than 50% percent of the amputations can be saved if hospital using the right dressings :) too bad is most of the time, doctors are lack of knowledge in dressings.
