On the Food: Segambut Seafood Noodle

Seriously, this has got to be the best seafood noodle I ever tasted!

Yu Ai Restaurant or more likely to call as Segambut Seafood noodle is located at Jalan Segambut, may be a most famous seafood noodle in the Klang Valley. Yu Ai specialists are scrumptious seafood noodles in three flavors - Clear soup, Curry and Tom Yam. These sea foods are as well as fish slices, mussels, prawns, squid, clams, and crabstick and so on. The quantities of seafood serve for each bowl of noodles are a lot. Patrons have option to choose kind of noodles they prefer, including kuey teow, mee hon, mee, lou shu fan, yee mee or mixture between them.

The curry seafood noodle and tom yam seafood noodle are the most popular choice. For those prefer something milder, the clear soup is a good option. These seafood noodles are serving in two sizes, regular bowl and large bowl. A regular bowl of seafood noodles contain 3 large prawns, fish fillets, clams, and dried oysters. For larger bowl, an extra prawn and a lot more seafood. For those who cannot take seafood or shellfish, there’s an alternative of fish ball noodles. This alternative comes with a load of fish balls and crab sticks.

The ingredients were ample. And fresh! And the soup was not too salty. Noodle given was generous. Service was fast. Price was reasonable given the quality of food they provided. ;)

The only drawback was, we had to sit at the carpark area at the back of the shoplots because the entire shop was, like, turned into the kitchen or something.

Given that if you were to visit during lunch time of a working day, you would probably need to wait for a seat!

The easiest directions for getting there is to take the Jalan Duta - Segambut Highway until you reach the roundabout. Take the 12 o’clock exit and hang a left at the T-junction traffic light. At the first traffic light, turn right. There is a row of shop houses along the left side of the main road. The restaurant is towards the end of the shop lots. Find a parking spot if you can and head on in.

I love seafood noodle and my mom makes them oh so delicious. Many broths in noodles have a load of MSGs in some of the restaurants in San Francisco. An hour later, you have this urge to drink water like crazy which of course is the effect of MSGs in your system. Too bad I don't live in Malaysia cos I've been reading all these wonderful restaurants that serve these mouth-watering dishes. Definitely need to visit this country one day!
