On the Ear Wax

Most often than not, people tends to think ear wax as something dirty, something so embarrassing and so ashamed of that if one has ear wax it's something so unsightly and forbidden to be talked about.

But the fact is, what we all deemed as ear shit, is actually just some wax produced by our ear canals. For some people, the wax would pass out spontaneously, but for many, they don't. And when they don't, they get retained inside the ear blocking the tube and forming something like a plug that could interfere with your hearing.

So, the management of impacted ear wax would be to have some sodium bicarbonate, or ear drops, and have them drips into the ear 3 times a day. A few days later if the wax doesn't come out and washed away, then you might need to go for a suction, whereby the otorhinolaryngologist would use a suction thingy to suck out all the wax. That, my fellow friends, would leave you dizzy for a while because of the air flow into the inner ear, which disturbed the balance centre inside the ear.

And since I'm in the "Ear" posting now, I had mine checked after erm, (forever!!!!) never been checked. LMAO. Gotten some drops, and hoping I wouldn't need to go for suction. Otherwise I wouldn't mind going for one. Weee!

Fun fun fun!

This may sound bad but the ear solution does and never worked for me so I resort to using the old ways, the earpicker. I know, my kids pediatrian say it's a big no no, but seriously, using an earpicker is a faster way and if you know how to use it, it's safe too.

I hear using mineral oil will get rid of ear wax. Using a Q-Tip is bad though.

One of the removal kits with the little bulb to shoot water into the ear works best. I just used it, got a totally NASTY bit of wax out after 2 days of muted hearing on the right side....

Put a few drops in, tilt head or put cotton in the ear so drops stay in, then flush with warm water until wax comes out.

Mine came out after 1 rinse, it about the size of half a peanut, it was cool and gross, hahaha.

I've removed shafts of wax from my ears just use a rubber bulb filled with warm water. A couple of brief blasts with the bulb and out comes the amber colored shaft of wax. Earwax has a truly distinctive odor. When I take a shaft of my ear wax and mash it with my fingers it has sort of a bitter sweet smell. Although earwax is extremely bitter tasting. I actually prefer the taste of my scalp believe it or not. I take the end of a retractable ball point pen with the pen point recessed, then I scrape a small section of my scalp with the open end of the pen. Then I engage the pen barrel and that pushes out my scraped scalp in a tiny ball. I've been doing this since I was a kid. Scalp has a unique taste especially if I don't wash my hair for a week.
