Here goes the report on the first of the 2 car wash days. And some of them piccies I took.
Okay, so the car wash turned out to be fine. Quite fun, though I didn't really do much of those begging for money job. I'm just the chaffeur. So yeah, just drive and follow the other in the group.
Car wash was bad. Really bad. Not surprising really, most of the residents turned out to be pretty cold (instead of generous). But if I were in their shoes, I guess I would be similar too. *sniggering* Most of the residents of the 3 rows of semi-detached houses that we visited, if they were at home, just came out and donate 5 bucks or 10. We didn't touch a single car.
After 3 rows of houses, we decided to just head over to the shops. We've had enough scoldings alright. Someone literrally shouted at us "GO AWAY!". And not to forget the dogs. Horrible experience I'd say.
Anyway, the shops. We went begging around Damansara Jaya, near Wisma Atria. And there were some REALLY generous shop owner. This super friendly guy from one of the cafes there offered us 100 bucks, but in return we got to help him distribute flyers. Not a problem to us. 100 bucks is a LOT. *sniggering* Ooh! And he offered us free iced-lemon tea too! Go visit CintaRia@DJ in Damansara Jaya.
Another pharmacy that we visited also contributed 100 bucks. Nice lady even suggested about selling cakes instead of carwashing. She told us about her experience of doing that fund raising for the breast cancer and stuff. And gave us the contact number of this baker who helped them.
The rest of the day was spent walking around shops and begging. All worthwhile, we managed to emerge as the top fund raiser, far exceeded the 600 bucks target by successfully begging up to almost 1k. We were rewarded for that of course. *sniggering*
Well, the head coordinator of the whole car-washing project was in the same group as myself. So yeah. We had to get that much of a sum, he's the head. He's been pushing around, and instruct every group to raise at least 600 bucks by the end of the day.
Totally beat now alright. Another day to go tomorrow. Blergh...

and the program may nt necessary to be held in sarawak, Like IMU, they dun run such high cost activity, but to adopt the orang asli kampung in the nearby area........
