On the Last Installment of Harry Potter

Muahahahahaha!!! Wee! Yahoo! Finally got myself in the cinema to catch this last installment of the wizardy world: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2. Director David Yates sure know how to keep the suspense going by breaking the last book into 2 parts movie. But of course, the fans, (like me hohoho!) knew the endings. Just that, its always fun to see how written stuff are transformed onto the silver screen.

Come Saturday, I was all happy and excited to see how Voldermort died. Oops, did I just do a spoiler? lol. But fictions being fictions, we almost always know how the story ends... But indeed, the Dark Lord was defeated just as the prophecy has told, in such a dramatic way! All those twist and turn, when Professor Dumbledore was killed by one of his trusted staff, Professor Snape... finally revealed. It was like, oh-my-gawd! (okay, so I admit, I didn't actually read the book after the 4th year, though I do have the entire box series at home. LOL!)

I love how J.K. Rowling killed Bellatrix Lestrange. She being the dramatic 'pure bloods' breaking lose from the Prison of Azkaban, indeed deserved a dramatic end. Again, we all know she'll die. All the more, by someone unexpected. At least from me. Bellatrix, played by Helena Bonham Carter, received such great publicity on her first appearance in the installments. Love her over-dramatic expressions!

And then, there was the Aberforth Dumbledore. Like an insignificant character, right? Indeed, Professor Dumbledore never mentioned about any of his siblings. Aberforth Dumbledore was in Harry's help twice. But in the last installment, there was once when he showed his real power. His petronus charm to defend against the dementors (guards of the Prison of Azkaban) was like, so gigantic, like a nuclear bomb like that. For a while, I whoa-ed in my seat. LOL.

But of course, there was also Professor McGonagall, the head of the house of Gryffindor, who stood up and had a duel with Professor Snape, and like, killed two men, and like, her spells, and like, her attire and owh, her look when Harry Potter died!

Oooh!
And the bad kids in the earlier instalments! It seems that the Slytherines are not so bad after all. Funny how the meanest kid in school grew up to be a tame boy. And the fact that he was involved with the dark side at such a young age... It was interesting that Harry explained in the end how one of the Deathly Hallows become his (though, technically I think Harry has all 3 of the items in the end.) through Draco.

Then again, if you do read the book, you would know that Professor Snape is kinda like, caught in the middle, and he had to gain Lord Voldermort's trust which is why, well... Professor Dumbledore made him did what he has done. But just right before his death, he showed Harry who he really was and it was another oh-my-gawd moment for me. (Cuz I never read the last book!) I trusted him! Then I hated him! Now I respect him again! No wonder, I thought I remember cheat-reading the last few page of the last book, that Harry's son was named Severus.

But I suppose the climax of the movie, was well... The entire thing. It was indeed a 2 hours full concentration on the screen, I wished I could do that for my studies. LOL. It's compact and full of action you would just stay glued to your seat and hold that pee in until it all ends! The duels, the dragons, the roller-coaster ride, the duels again, and the castle [love it! and love seeing it destroyed! LOL!], and the final duel [!! Voldermort vs Harry Potter], and the death of more characters (but nothing as shocking as Professor Dumbledore's).

This is just my personal note on the movie. Am a fan, crazy enough to buy the entire box series, but not insane enough to know all the details. So, I've been enjoying all the Harry Potter movies, and especially this last one. It was just... Amazing. Awesome. Multiple-orgasm.
