There's a Mandarin proverb that goes 平时不烧香,临时抱佛脚, literally translated to something like if you don't pray daily, even hugging the Buddha's foot in the last minute would be useless; so it means last minute job would see no desirable result.
Having said that, when it comes to our exams, divine intervention is much needed. For me at least. I chant the mantra occasionally before, during and after the exams, when I was about to sleep, on my way to the exam hall and before I entered the slaughter room to come face to face with the examiners. Admittedly, I think I've gone way too freaky for any Buddhist in my batch. LOL.
Then again, I went to the temple again on the first day of April. Burnt 4 jossticks and prayed to the Buddhas in the temple for like the longest I thought I ever prayed. It was as though I was in the confession box confessing! By the time I were to put them jossticks in the urns, they were already burnt halfway...
Spent the rest of the afternoon taking some photos around the temple. It is, after all, the most beautiful temple in the city. I think. New Year songs were filmed here almost yearly. The carvings were very delicate and very colorful. I didn't go into the hall, and walked outside the temple.
Sigh. Anxiety level sky rocketing... Results will be out so so soon!
