however i doubt if that would stop any serious runner. would that stop you?
oh?? surprise!! marathon can cause pancreatitis also?? why??
That's why you should stop running marathons :P
Luckily i'm not a runner :p
Michi has stopped running marathon and into cycling since. The running injure one's knees, pancreas, lungs and heart! STOP!!!! Let's cycle and wear tight pants ok.
VERY interesting. I just googled "can running cause pancreatitis?" Why? Last year I ran a 4-5 mile race and that following night I had severe abdominal pain. I went to urgent care the next morning but my pain was gone and I didn't seek any further evaluation. I experienced pancreatitis again a few months later, and I was diagnosed with choledochal cysts. I had a roux en y hepaticojejunostomy at duke and the cysts were removed. In the process, I devleoped a bile leak from my new anastamosis and my pancreas was "nicked" (possible amylase leak as well) I had JP drain all summer. Yesterday, (7 months after summer) I went on the longest run I have done since my surgery. I woke up this morning with my pancreatitis pains. They are subsiding but I am beginning to wonder if longer runs trigger this!
