On the Deranged Eye

Not enough with yesterday's kidney function test, the medical officer introduced us to the funduscopy camera. So, what else? I sat in front of the camera and get my eye checked of course. Turned out, everyone in the room were taken aback. My eye apparently showed something IS wrong with me.

See the whitish lines and dots along the blood vessels?

I haven't quite figured out what they were yet. The medical assistants said they're hard exudates, high cholesterol. But my friends and I thought the whitish patches looked more of soft exudates, which means macro-infarction of the vessels in the eye. But then again, mine wasn't characteristics of either soft or hard exudates. Which led to the disparity of our ideas and the medical assistant's.

But one thing for sure, both these are usually seen in patients who have diabetes mellitus and hypertension.

GASPS!!! I'm dying!

It could due to artifacts as well, ask someone to redo the funduscopy again. It is not that I am worried. It is the optic disc, c/d ratio and the uneven retinal colors. Check also if there are any nerve fibre layer defects.
