Attending the antenatal clinic is one of the most important thing we must do in obstetrics posting. The lecturers said it's one of the exam questions! Ha!
So during one of clinic attachment, there was a lady who came to the clinic, and on the first look, she looked as though she was already termed! When we tried to palpate the abdomen, we can't even feel the fundus, i.e. the top part of the distended uterus. The entire abdomen appeared to be hard.
In the end, we solemnly told the doctor that we couldn't appreciate where the fundus was.
Doctor: Of course. It's very difficult.
Later on did only we know that, this lady was actually obese even before her pregnancy.
Made me remember the joke we always throw at Dad for his belly, "Berapa bulan?"
LOL.
