On the Unfortunate Cost

Her right elbow, there's a groove...

Saw a lady who was diagnosed to was diagnosed to have a form of malignant soft tissue tumor around her elbow. Her arm was fixate in a 90 degrees flexion and she was constantly in pain. So the surgeon said if she can wait, she would be placed in the waiting list of the surgery under the hospital. Just that, the problem is, and the list go on until one year later.

But the patient was consistently in pain and she hope the surgeon could help her with an instant relieve. So the surgeon said she could go to his private practice, where the surgery could be done within a week. But of course, in private practice, the cost would probably be much more than the cost of the surgery done in the hospital. All in all, it could cost up to 15 to 20 thousands, not including the cost of the materials and hospital stay. If the debridement was too extensive that the consultation of a plastic surgeon is needed, the cost would go even higher.

But I suppose, anyone in her shoes wouldn't mind the cost and would be willing to pay for that. She is after all, still in her 30s. Health comes first. After all, it's only basic human instinct that we want to stay alive.
