On the Presence

I tried to complete this post, but everytime I tried to, I just started to shiver and ended up abandoning it.

Before you read my encounter, here's a piece where Dr. Jimbo wrote about the many tales in the East Wing. Definitely not for the faint hearted. Especially the collection of photos.

It was like, nearly mid-night when we left the ophthalmology ward after our on-call, in the East-Wing that was. There were 3 of us, we pressed on the elevator to go down. The eye ward was on the 7th floor, and being the eye ward, it's basically a very basic ward where there isn't any resuscitation machine. Having said that, very few patients were admitted here, therefore leaving the ward quite empty. Therefore, a lot of the terminally ill patients were placed there.

It was a quiet night. The only voice was from the 2 girls that went to the ward together with me. It was also a coincident that, a couple of days earlier I was brought up the ghost story post that Dr. Jimbo wrote about regarding the presence felt in the East Wing, as we were posted there. So one of the girls who heard about it just kept quiet while the second who didn't hear from me were still all so joyful.

As the door of the elevator opened, we walked into the elevator box. The door was closing when it suddenly jerked. A few times too.

The girls quickly ran out before me knowing. When I came to my senses that they were already out of the elevator, I also followed suit. But just as I was going to head for the door (the elevator was huge), the door finally closes!

I quickly head for the button panel and frantically pressed on the "Door Open" button, with images of, you know what, behind me...

At last I managed to get out. Thank God. Amithaba. Amen.

The girls were still outside the elevator, waiting for me. But of course, they were at a distance away. We ran to the other end of the lounge for another set of elevator. The girls were panting. Like, what just happened??? We were stunned. And it was the elevator in the middle.

But of course, 5 seconds later, we were all laughing, and were walking down those dimly lit corridors back to our own room. It was 12 in the midnight.

ps: Okay! I'm a coward, I was too scared to even search for a decent ghosts-in-the-hospital pictures.

About the elevator thing, it's indeed scary to be trapped in there with unwelcome guests!

Worse is, if the elevator door opens, and you realised you are at the wrong floor which is all completely dark and you see a figure ahead. Pengsan.

Just watched Haunted Universities - really enjoyable Thai movie, though still not scary enough for me. There's 4 stories in it, I like the funny one about the morgue in 3rd story. You should watch it! : )

The first image, I can make out an image but that is you in the white coat right? Or is there something else I missed?

Hospitals are creepy places to work in. No offenses to you though but I wouldn't want to work at any hospitals. I'm curious, if there are countless stories from people feeling the presence of especially the lady with long hair, why wouldn't they try to bless the 11th floor? Or is it one of those science and religion don't mix?

Speaking about hauntiness in hospitals, when I had my daughter four years ago, I felt an usual presence in my recovery room. I felt really uncomfortable so i opened my room door slightly and pulled the curtain back halfway. For some reasons, the uneasiness feeling of despair and sadness came from the ceiling. I just kept looking up. A couple of hours later, a nurse came in and we chatted. I asked her what floor is right above from us and she said the cancer ward. The nurse used to work in that ward but transferred to pediatric because she couldn't handle watching people dying in pain. I had chills crawling up my spine when she told me that.
