On FoodBlog: Suria KLCC - California Pizza Kitchen

Here's a grave review full of expired rage of the food in California Pizza Kitchen, KLCC, as well as the many hiccups that happened.

I know it was the last day of 2009, but first thing first, who would be doing stock-taking on the last day of the year when you know it's the best night for money? What's more with all the bars and clubs down on the ground floor opening up till after midnight at least, and you decide to close shop at 10pm. It's like, hello, your shop has got the balcony facing the park where the crowds gather to watch the fireworks, and you thought it's smart to close the shop early when you could pump in more money that night? Plus, who ever did stock-taking at night when you could do so in the day?! Stupid right?

Secondly, if you don't have a table for 10, at least tell me properly there's no table for 10, and tell me what's in your mind, rather than pulling together 3 round tables like what KFC has and place 8 chairs with 2 stools, and tell me "your table is ready" before you asked me if it's okay that we sit literally OUTSIDE of the shop! I mean, come on! Train your staff to be at least a little bit more courteous? And hello, STOOLS???? You expect us to seat on the stool where the customers are seated while they're waiting for their seats?? The stools???

Okay, let's say we're fine with the fact that there's no reservation taking on the last day of the year, and we're made known about it. We accept it that you are not able to give us any priority despite us calling a month in advance. Fine. But at the very least, be more polite when you're talking to your customer right? Here's this lady or something that we called to who said she'll try to get us a proper table inside the shop, who didn't even dare to come out and talk to us, and when we demanded that we wanted to talk to her because when we called she was the one who answered, she stomped out all grumpy and angry! I mean, what the f**k ma'am? You're serving, you should at least know that it's the rule of thumb that your customer get a proper treatment despite your food is lousy right? At least we won't feel so cheated about it.

Then, when we asked if we could wait a bit longer so that we could at least have a joint table INSIDE the shop, you straight away shot our questions down and kept on saying it's not possible because the tables would be far apart. Guess what? We saw a group of 10 walked in 10 minutes after we decided to take your lousy arrangements of tables OUTSIDE the shop. Now wasn't that a nice?

Now let's not forget what your tone was when you snapped "If you don't want the stools we can change the chairs for you." Puhleaze la Annie girl, we wouldn't mind if they're the stools your workers pulled out from the waiting area, but if you at least answered with a smile politely, I wouldn't make such a big fuss about it now. But since you did, I guess this is what I would do.

Now let's go to the food. Chicken Marsala tasted too salty it would cause hypertension straight away. Garlic noodles that you served could easily be found in any "dai-chao" outside, and let's not forget the one you prepared wasn't even as nice as the one I had in PJ. Plus, Pizza Hut served better pizzas.

Also, let's not forget the cocktails you served. If you want to have cocktails in your menu, at least be prepared to privde a substantial amount of alcohol inside them! And what we ordered, it seemed like some juices or some sort. Yet you're charging 18 bucks for some flavoured drinks?

So that brings me to the last component I'll bitch about. For a table of 10, and for the RM500 that we paid, I'm sure it'll be far better treatment and food in any Chinese restaurant anywhere else. The food didn't worth as much, and the service definitely didn't even worth giving tips to.

Ambience wise, we're sitting outside of the shop. How did you expect me to review on it right?

But why did we chose to stay on? Because we thought we wanted a place where all 10 of us could sit down properly and have the last meal of the year, and we were darn hungry already.

It's the countdown night. Crowd was big. It was busy. But the quality of service shouldn't be affected right? So, to claim "our innovative pizzas are creatively designed on a delicious crust, and hearth-baked to perfection. Also served are distinctive pastas, salads, soups, appetizers and desserts, including our Chicken-Tequila Fettucine, BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad, Tortilla Spring Rolls and Key Lime Pie", what bullshit man!?

So, I don't think I need to give any final gradings for this place as I'm sure you could expect what my overall gradings for this place is.

agree with u, it really doesnt make sense, why choosed last day to do stocktake, knowing that many of their loyal customers would like to continue their tradition of countdown there...
and its even worse with that kinda attitude, we were not wrong in the very first place, really should blacklist them...
anyway its nice to have meals with u guys :)
