On the Start of a Journey

Without thinking highly either of men or matrimony, marriage had always been her object; it was the only honourable provision for well-educated young women of small fortune, and however uncertain of giving happiness, must be their pleasantest preservative from want.
- Austen Jane, Pride and Prejudice: Ch.22

A lot of us believe that university is the time where we start searching for a partner. Because by the time we graduate and started working, it would be quite difficult to settle down. I don't know how true this fact is.

But from what I've came about, there were already at least 10 couples in my batch, amongst themselves; and who knows how many else who has their partner not inside the medical school. It seemed like everyone I hang out with are either coupled, or are in the midst of dating.

Apparently, a lot of the seniors have been proving it to be true. And I just saw the amazing pre-wedding photos of my buddy. May she live happily ever after.

All I could do was to admire how pretty she is...

Somewhere there waiteth in this world of ours
for one lone soul, another lonely soul -
Each chasing each through all the weary hours,
And meeting strangely at one sudden goal;
Then blend they - like green leaves with golden flowers,
Into one beautiful and perfect whole -
And life's long night is ended, and the way
Lies open onward to eternal day

Sir Edwin Arnold 1832-1904

I hv alwiz found the marriage vows at the altar to be soooooo fake, esp the "till death do us part". Divorce is such an "in" thing nowadays.
