On a Rubber Gone

Our white coats, we've got big pockets. One side for the palm cards and handbooks, while the other is for stethoscope and measuring tape. And normally I'll have my wallet and keys and phone in the pocket inside the coat.

And there's this ring or a hook or something that is used to put my long hard tool.

This tool of mine is used to elicit reflexes in certain parts of the body: the knee, the elbow, the ankle... And by assessing the different levels of the reflexes, we can get some clue as to where the level of injury is. I mean in the central nervous system.

While I have already gotten my tool earlier than most of my colleagues last year for our elective purposes, my groupmates and I learnt about all these tappings of reflexes earlier too. (but that doesn't mean I'm any better now that I see it.) So I've already gotten used to having this long tool poking at the side of my coat everytime I walk to the ward or anywhere else with my white coat on.

And with a tool as long as that, sometimes it's a bit of a problem when I sit. The tool would poke up and sometimes causes some discomfort in the pants. Just that one day, when I felt my tool poking out, I brushed it off simply and put it back to where it was.

Half a day later when I accidentally saw my tool, I was so shocked that my rubber was gone!

Daymn... I don't have a rubber!!!
