The girls were planning to go for a trip to Bali after our finals. Michelle texted me earlier "Hey, will u be interested to go bali from aug 19 to 22? To and fro RM 173. that's during 2 weeks holiday. After convocation."
I was still thinking actually. But seeing the frog's encounter with the dramatic GP and medical staff... I'm having second thoughts.
And while I was texting with Apollo this morning catching up, I incorporated mum's panic into our text messages.
Apollo: Going to Bali next week.
Me: AH1N1
Apollo: Shit. Don't scare me woi!
Me: True wat. Just telling you the fact. A matter of time before it's an epidemic, maybe pandemic too. First death in the Philipines today.
Apollo: Then I'll make sure I visit you.
Me: CB! Don't infect me. I refuse to see you.
Apollo: And I'll make sure I give you a peck on the cheek too.
Me: CB! You won't be able to find me anyways.
Apollo: Wherever you are I will find you.
Kept me up during the seminars at least.
Somehow with all the increasing number of cases nowadays, Mum's getting all worried too. Few days ago when there was the first case of ground contact transmission, Mum asked me to take precaution. And since then it got more and more dramatic. Now that there's more cases reported, all the morning messages that she sent has some scent of AH1N1 in them too.
21/6/09: Is your hospital called TAR?
To which I replied yes it is and I asked why.
21/6/09: I saw from newspaper. Got 2 H1N1 case quarantined at yr hospital.
To which I replied, I know, they were quarantined in the isolation ward, not the main block where we are.
And two days later...
23/6/09: Ai! Kch got 1st case H1N1 already. Swinburne student. Please take precautions...
I didn't reply anything.
So it got me wondered really. Newspaper was showing of kids in schools going to class with a mask on. And us: We walk in and out of the hospital everyday without a mask on. Ignorant?
Therefore, I haven't decided whether or not I wanted to go to Bali in August, having confirmed that the strongest objections will be coming from my dearest Mummy.

Mummy won't only be the one objecting! :P
+Ant+
Well, it doesn't help to be overly panicky. :P
not a good yr to travel!
hv to wait until this pig flu to stop then~
Stay at home and be a good mummy's boy. Then mummy can stop worrying about you travelling elsewhere.
Mummy wants me to go back home. :(
I wanna stay in KL...
hmmmm, i'm going to Singapore next week leh~~ :(
Hmmm, wonder if I should postpone my China trip!
I think it's better not to be too panicky.
After all, it's flu, the most easily transmissible. The only way we'd ever be 100% protected is if we live in an isolated self sustaining bubble.
yeah, out of a sudden the govt has announced we have 80 infected people.
i guess u should proceed.
haha.
h1n1 is just like any other common flu, with a mortality rate of less than 1%
Go, but wear a mask?
and my mum had been pressuring me to go home, with the reason that family gathering is scarce these days... what more with the brother leaving the country soon...
be a good boy and go homelah.. think of yr mum. there will b lots of time for u to go travel in the yrs to come
