On the Photos of 1.5 Gigapixel

Photographer David Bergman made a massive composite 1,474 megapixel photograph of the Inaugural audience at the moment Barack Obama gave his address. This means that you can zoom in on any point in the crowd and see clear faces, the sort of technology that the CIA always seems to have in spy movies.


I wonder how big the lense is... The 18-200 that the photographer friend that I know is already so heavy that he has to support the camera with his hand and not just let it hang on his neck, a lense that can capture a photo that is of 1.5 megapixel must have been the size of a torpedo...

Wowzers, and what's the size of each picture file like? 2GB?

with a lens like that, we need a tripod just for te lens otherwise the hand will feel weary after a while

Opening such a photo file in the pc will definitely make it hang :P
