On the Twitching Eye

It was said that when the corner of your eyes twitch, it means something is going to happen. And apparently, it means differntly if the twitch is at different side of the eyes, right being good and left being bad.

So how would you reckon you'd react when your left eye has been twitching for the past one week. Intermittently. Sometimes it twitches more, sometimes it gets lesser.

I told a friend of mine that my left eye has been twitching for the past one week or so. Medically speaking, you'd be all out checking for nerve conductivity and what not. Spontaneous muscle twitching can be pretty serious. But then again, perhaps it's how we're brought up, the first thing that comes into mind, would be what culture and tradition that we've been learning and living by.

She: Left or right?
Me: Left.
She: Fuyooo... Something bad's going to happen.
Me: Huh?
She: Zo hong yao kat mar. (meaning twitching on the left side represents something unfavourable is going to happen.)
Me: Die...
She: Just be careful.
Me: How bad can it be? Death?
She: Maybe, maybe not. Just be careful.
Me: How am I supposed to be careful if it happened on people I love?

But in the end, she brushes it aside and said, that's what the older generation has been telling us.
She: You'll be fine. Go drink more water.

I don't really know what has water to do with the twitching. But part of me still pretty anxious over what's going to happen.

The spontaneous twitching slowed down for the last few days. I guess I was pretty relieved that it has stopped. Maybe not entirely, but at least it's not twitching continuously like before.
