"You guys arrived safely?" The tinge of concern from the best buddy who knew about my getaway to the Pearl.
While I have yet to tell anyone that we extended to stay for another night spontaneously, I replied mischievously that "We're still stuck in Penang, got sunburnt, can't drive."
Later on when he calls up wondering how badly burnt we actually were, the soulmate answered for me saying we failed to get burnt yesterday, therefore we extended another night so that we could get burnt. How pathetic!
Truth be told, it was out of spontaneous decision on Sunday morning when we woke up and decided to extend for one more night in Tune Hotel as my class on Monday starts only at 2pm. Thus far, that was the news from the colleague back in Klang. So with that, it seemed to be a weekend where I don't actually feel as if it's already Sunday when all the blues kicked in.
We walked down the road into the downtown area, following the heritage trail and what not, having our photoshooting session in this UNISCO heritage site. Apparently, 10 years ago when I first stepped foot on this island, we didn't actually walked in the city, and therefore I never knew all these places. Until today.
What seemed to be a nice day for photoshooting turned out to be hell of a day too bright for my skin. What's more with me clad in just a singlet and flip-flops, I've got quite some tattoo over my body, face and foot. No doubts we've had quite a great time admiring all those historical architecture, as well as the food (MAN!!!), which of course I'll blog in another post, but apparently, the skin was not able to process Vitamin D from the excess sunlight that, right now my shoulders are screaming in pain when I barely try to even touch them.
As the sun was setting, all those burnt areas become more apparent. My face is red. My forearms is red. My foot got a protected mark by the stripes of my flip-flops. And yeah, you wish you could see a picture of me topless. I look so damn sexy! My breath is hot as if I'm blowing fire. And my body is generating enough heat to warm up the entire room (heat-generating bolster indeed).
But anyways, it is a great trip. This agony over the pain on the shoulder is far too little if you want me to compare it with the great time we had. Spontaneity rules!

Oooh, sunburns are the evidence that you had fun under the sun! :)
Hmmm, I thought that an umbrella could've done the trick. Well unless you need the tattoos :P
Ouch!
Better apply lots of moisturizer, hun.
When it starts to peel, now that's a bitch.
oh my gwad, that is really very serious burn!! ok ok, i've learnt to be smarter next time if i'm going to penang.. SUNBLOCK!!!
next time dont try to look macho. use an umbrella or wear a hat. Penang's sun is terrible... it bites the skin like little ants. I don't know if it is because it is near the sea or what.
