On the Cry in the Middle of the Night

Past 12 midnight and I was burning the midnight oil. Yea right. Chatting most probably. The euphoria can't be suppressed. After all, written exam will be over by then in 24 hours time.

I was listening to the Buddhist Hymns on the earphone. Palm cards in front of me, and fingers tapping away on the lappie keyboard. It was indeed a hot night. Even with the fan spinning at the highest speed, I can't help but to sweat buckets. Showered twice, yet it didn't help. I was literally stripped down to the minimum one could imagine. (With the roomie in, puh-leaze).

And then there's the noise.

Wuaarrrngguuaaauuuuuaa.... Aaarrrnngggggguuuuoooaaaaa....

Or so it sounded like.

I took off the earphone and tried to listen carefully what it was. But all I could hear was the sound from the spinning fan and the roomie twisting and turning on the bed. So I continued what I did.

And then there's the cry again. A louder one.

WAAAAAUUUURRRNNNGGGGG.... WUUUAAAAANNNNGGGGGUUUUAAA....



AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!

Haha. Okay. It was intentional. I didn't know how to transfer the sound of the cry into words. But basically it was this eerie cry in the middle of the night.

I shivered. Even with the earphone on, the cry got loud enough to reach the tympanic membrane in the ear. I took it off, and listened to the cry again. As before, it was gone.

Okay fine. If the baby doesn't want me to pay more attention to it, then I won't. I carried on chatting on the messengers while the palm card sitting comfortably on the table.

I was continually harrassed by the cry for the next one hour. And when I finally felt the weariness kicking in, I head to bed. Still joyful and euphoric.

18 hours later and I shall be a free man. Free from Paediatrics. For the time being. And free to roam around for the holidays. Heaven! MUAHAHA. Wish me luck!


By the way, the cry was from two cats fighting. Saw them when I woke up this morning. LOL
