On Day Trip Down [Halfway] South

FORWARNED: LONG POST WITH MANY [GREAT] PICS! >.<

Road Trip! Road Trip!
Melvin imitating the scene in QAF where the guys were on a mission to New York looking for a run-away kid. And Cedric and I were like, LMAO! I know! So yeah, for the record, we just found out that we love road trip. After some undecided plans of dining out with friends, I gave up waiting since one day before and brought up the idea of a road trip to these two. Anywhere, just outside of the city. So in the end, the three of us set off on a beautiful Sunday morning halfway down south, to the historical city of Malacca.

So I woke up at 5 in the morning, gotten myself ready, and headed out onto the deserted Federal Highway to meet up the other two in Subang. Road trip! Road trip! I was damn excited.

We left for the state South of Selangor roughly around 8ish, and reached a road going into the town centre around 10. And we saw some posters on the lamp posts along the road, spontaneously agreeing into greeting some aliens.

Not going to spill everything in this post alone, since there's so much to show already. So I shall leave the Aliens exibition in the next post.

We headed into Malacca town centre, happily greeted by some heavy jams. LOL

Our first stop in town was none other than FOOD. Lunch I mean. None of us had breakfast. And I was... erm... kinda lying about not hungry. LOL

Quite a nice place I'd say. Not sure how the two were reviewing about the place. Melvin was saying it's quite a disappointment. Cedric was... I don't know... busy with his tools. LOL

I was in Malacca 8 years back. So the Taming Sari Viewing Tower was new to me. Melvin was keen in visiting, but given that it was 1 in the afternoon, and entrance fee was 20 bucks...

We just walked around it and saw the symbolic structure of the Marine Museum...

We didn't enter. I wasn't in the mood of museum-ing. So we headed over to the esplanade. YES! Something new... since 8 years ago. LMAO

And I was totally poisoned by the photographers with their tools. Cedric was kind enough to let me play around with his. Huge difference with mine eh? ME LOVEY!

We walked along the roads, saw some more instalment along the Malacca River to attract tourists...

As well as some... archeological site that caused quite some uproar a while back... I think a LONG while back

The archeological site, which was actually the base of the Malacca Fort, was actually just next to the famous Dutch buildings... Yeaps... Studhuys, Christ Church, and all those reddish buildings lah.

I'm still in love with the place.

Burning hot weather... but with good companies, nothing else matters.

There were some amphibians on show. I mean, pay per pose kinda thing. Lotsa people... I assure you, I was aiming at the snake-man.

We finally decided to enter the museum. Since it was pretty darn hot outside. Amazingly, camera was allowed with no extra charges!

And apparently, Cedric was wondering if we could also take those stuff as souvenirs...

I made acquaintance with a Dutch lady.

She was telling me about this lamp... But I didn't see anything special lor...

In fact, I find it's special that they have a typical Chinese kopitiam inside the museum...

And I find it 'odd' that there were no models for the Chinese wedding ceremony. DON'T MENTION IT! DO NOT MENTION IT!!! I'm not a science man!

We finally leave about 45 minutes later. Walked past a Bong-look-alike, according to Melvin. Hmph... (<.<) And climbed up the hill to see the magnificient erection of the viewing tower. Also the Eye of Malaysia.

We were greeted by (Saint?) Francis Xavier... Always respected him...

Also bumped into a group of kids on field trip...

Who were amazed by the 2 singers inside the church singing "Tien Mi Mi" by Teresa Teng. Amazed?

We climbed down on the other side of the hill, stumbled across none other than the ever famous A'Famosa...

8 years ago, there was a piece of field infront of the ruined fort. But today... it was checkered...

And covered!

It was a Godsend that there is a mall just directly opposite the fort. I didn't know there's a new mall in town! And apparently, with Diwali just around the corner, thou' shall NOT laugh at her tummy!

We took some time off and sat ourselves down in some over-rated place. I finally know how to order from this place. LOL

Enjoying ourselves with a new hobby: People watching. Melvin, next table, sipping coffee, looking at you. Cedric, your 3 o'clock, Bermuda's and tee, stylish hair, so your type. Bong, by the fountain, sooo you. Blardy hell!

We finally had enough of people watching and crossed the Malacca River...

To the ever famous Jonker Street.

ANG! ANG! ANG! ANG! ANG!

Truth be told, the last time I was here, me and my family, we didn't came to the street. So it was a whole new, fresh and eye-opening experience. I'm in loveeeee with the street so to speak.

And by chance, we came across this...

What a BEAUTY.... I shall do a seperate post for this alone. Tee-hee...

We left the temple and walked pass this mosque built with a fusion of the Chinese culture... I thought we read in History in secondary school before. But I can't really remember what's the name...

That's when Cedric walked up to me and told me what he heard over a passing group of 4 muscular guys in singlets, "Do you bring KY?" Wooot... Scandalous. Chuckles.

Oh... I was aroused. Honestly... I was... Totally... with the Nyonya Cendol...

Just when I thought it was going to be a boring weekend, I surprised myself. Thanks a lot guys, I had fun. I totally enjoyed the trip. Hope you did too.

Where shall we go next? Hmmm...
