On Being Sick

Something is wrong. Something is seriously wrong.

Many other times, it's just empty. For one tenth, it's like the shot above. For one in 20 times, I can get online.

So last night after reaching home from Damansara, I switch on my lappie. The lights came on. No "Compaq" wordings. No Windows logo. The screen is empty. Shit. It happened again.

I went to the shower, came out 5 minutes later, the screen is still empty. I shoved the mouse a bit, nothing. I got frustrated. Pressed on the switch-on button and shut down the whole thing. Yes, I was that frustrated. It hurted me a lot, but what do you expect me to do? None of the keys on the key pad gave any responses.

And it has been persisting for a few weeks by now. I've copied everything into my external hard disk, so I'm sending my Presario to the specialist in Low Yatt. I have to. I need my baby back healthy.

But I'm scared it won't.

I was at the Mines this afternoon with a friend. We went to the IT World. While he was asking about whatever his gadgets problem, I walked into the next shop which provided repair services.

"Compaq Presario? V3000? AMD Turion? Hah man... It's the model problem. A lot of my customer also sent in complaining the same problem. We really have no idea what was wrong. Really. A lot of out cusotmer complained the same problem. We think it has something to do with the AMD. That's why we no longer sell V3000, we sell other models now. Like the F700 here, there's no problem so far. Quite a number people bought this model now."

Damn.

"You can send it to Damansara, the Compaq HQ, but I don't exactly know where the location is."

Double damn.

What am I suppose to do without you, my darling? I can't live without you? What if you're factory-ridden for weeks? How do you expect me to survive without you? Okay, without the internet most probably. But you're still very much needed for me to get online... And you know very well, okay, I know very well, we both enjoyed surfing the net...

Oh my oh my... What am I suppose to do without you...
