That Expected Answer

Okay. I saw it coming. And, the reason I'm not going to do backpacking alone is, I'm scared. Especially when it's actually the first trip overseas. Singapore doesn't count, she used to be a part of Malaysia. *sniggering* Anyway, yeaps, you can expect the decision now too. I receive this text messages around noon "I think it's too rush. We're not ready yet." Given if I were to act all emotionally, what's more with the unstable mood for the past week, I would throw tantrums and swear some really mean word such as "BITCHES!". *LMAO*

So yeah, I was relatively disappointed. How could I not? From the initial sparks of the plan in mid February, the plan was postponed and dragged forward for a month. The first group of friends decided to dump me, for their own plans. And now the second group is doing the same. I'm feeling utterly dejected. Pissed. Down. Agitated. Annoyed. Restless. And totally cool with it. *LOL*

Anyway, the Cambodia trip is being blown. QR said, on the bright side, I could use that money to get the ever-yearned DSLR camera. *Hooray!* Though, either him or the flogger was saying it's such a consuming hobby to take up photography when I'm not interested in taking photography lesson. What's more that yearning for the gigantic proffesional DSLR. A DSLR just for fun. Am I too rich or what? *LMAO*

Nope. I am NOT rich. I assure you that.

So, I was asking around those contacts on MSN the other night about travelling alone. And I fretted and complained how I'm the lonesome planner, that people are not interested in my plans. Turned out that, I've been asking people who're skewed to think travelling is fun. I mean, yeah, who would not be interested in travelling right? But I'm telling you this though, there's one who said he's not interested in travelling. I rolled my eyes, "Helloooo??", and he said it's just not his thing. Okay fine. Different people have different interests. I get that.

Let's call the first guy Trist. Been chatting with this fella for a while, Ipoh dude, avid traveller. He was saying I should just go for it. Take it as a form of consolation or reward for working hard for the finals. After all, if I ever wanted to go, I'll be going in mid May right after the finals. And, despite a little bit too pricey for us students, it's still considerably fair for the service provided. I'm talking about the package offered by travelling agencies. We're too soon to talk about backpacking. He was the one suggesting, that I should follow a trip, or go through travelling agency, since I'm like uh, travelling [seriously] for the first time. So no harm give it a go on the package. Plus, he was the one who calmed me down when I was all irritated about 'people' around me, and hence I'm all cheery today. *sniggering* So I took his idea into deep consideration.

Then there's the brother from Japan who will be back for good in April. He loves travelling, lucky bugger he's been to Athens and Taiwan, and Vegas and who knows where else, on work and conferences, which means all paid trip. I asked if he wanted to join me, since Cambodia is fast catching attention amongst travellers. We don't want to visit when it's turned into a super commercialised place, such as the Great Wall of China. But May eh? Too early for him to confirm. Poor thing. Ugh.

Finally, there's Jon. He suggested that I take the plunge. If I missed the opportunity, I might not even have any chance to do so in the future. Not until I'm on a stable career. He even shared his experience of going to Thailand while he's still in his student years. The best memories he ever had. Work came and he's now forever stuck to his job. And he said May is not a good time for him, he's all tied down. But he said it's no harm taking the experience. Plus, the package isn't all too exaggeratively expensive. Though it looks dear from the surface, but everything is arranged. Of course we know the travel agency sucked the hell out from us with the service charges and all, but yea, I rather have a guide with me than to wander around on my own. Warnings on the landmines for solo travellers and backpackers are all over the web.

Most of the others said Cambodia is a must visit. And too bad, ALL of them cannot tag along. Trist just came back from Germany, and he's not sure of his work schedule then. Joseph will be going to Myanmar in April, and Perth in June, in between? Don't think so. Edmund said he can't do, he cannot confirm either, so he's relatively uncertain and definitely sorry about it.

I swiftly answered -no problem, I just wanted to ask what's their opinion of travelling alone for a first timer.

But when it comes to a definite decision, almost all suggested that it's best to have a company. More fun. Like uh, hellooo? I did asked if they wanted to go together in between those lines., didn't I? Ah well, too bad...

So yeah, I'm thinking about Trist's suggestion really. It's inviting and exciting. And true enough, I need time out for myself. The friend from Sg said he closed himself after exams season for a week or two, no socializing, just him and his own world, alone. It helps to calm down the stormy emotions. I supposed he's true in the sense that, yeah, I get all too snappy after exams.

However.. it comes down to myself. Do I really want it?

I think I would need to at least travel with someone else. I can't stand seeing something beautiful and not comment.

Someone's gonna go for a tryst with Trist?!

We don't mind going about places alone, because you get to do everything you want, but it's definitely more fun with company! Who else will you share your memories with, and more importantly, who else would take photographs for you?!

Go by yourself, bong. It's quite an experience. You'll meet other travellers out there doing the same so relax.

Ah Bong, Angkor(Hindu), Baron( Buddish), Ta Phom(wild temple), BanTeay Srei(pink temple)and many more. 3 days to enjoy seeing these.

You can forget & skip PP if you run short of fund or time. only 5 to 6 site worth visit in PP.

Most attractions in cambodia is near Seam Reap. Tonel Sap is a must see too.

I hv done Seap Reap for a week in 2006 ALONE.

I use AirAsia that cost me total with tax & fuel surcharge less that RM200 Return.

I'm backpacking with the help of latest vol of Lonely Planets Guild on Cambodia that I buy for USD5 in Seam Reap.

There are tons of info on what to do & how to do it on the net.

Motorbike Transport will be only USD4/day from SeamReap to The Angkor complex. Bicycle is free in some guesthouses.

you can buy 3 days pass to the Angkor complex for USD20.

Angkor is must go...

Also, don't forget to get some gems (ruby, saphirer, citrine, topaz, quartz) from the market area ...good and cheap. go in the morning for early bird bargain...

An Bong.. GO..GO...GO ... Heard that the conversationist suggest to restrict number of visitos to each sites. go before it closes...
