That Smart Buddies

When I came into medical school, I've had heard about the buddy system. There were a whole lot of buddy system posts in the archive when the new 1st year came in last year in July, but reading the posts were like, OMG, I wrote this?! *sniggering* It's so funny sometimes when you read back what you wrote. Perhaps time does change how a person think. But it's like, I did those posts once in two days? Like uh, anyone would get bored of it right? *LMAO* [ Started with the initial choice where I'm supposed to 'book' the junior we want, then some catfight here... and finally it's over.] I'm laughing when I was trying to read what I wrote back then, could even barely finish reading them. *LMAO*

Anyway, the final year's final results are out today. Apparently, the eldest buddy Lwk who just finished their exam last week is listed as one of the 8 students to be called in for viva distinction interview! *YAY!!!* He's in the running to become a distinction student! I've known all along that he's one of the smartest student in his batch, but I never come to know he's one of the viva students. I mean, during one of the dinner before, he told us that he was also listed for the viva distinction when he was in his first year. But subsequently, he didn't manage to be listed after that. But when I saw his name on the billboard today, I was like OMG! He's one of them!

*sniggering* Pardon me. I'm happy for him. Am proud really. *sniggering*

I sent him a message congratulating him, and he replied me "Thanks! Will try my best. Wonder if the interviewer will ask about parasite cause of dysentry. :D". Well, he asked me that question the other day. Glad I helped really. *LMAO* Not that it'll definitely be asked, but yeah, at least I could tell him on the spot! *sniggering*

Anyway, apart from my buddy, 2 of the housemies also received good news about their buddy lines. CH's final year buddy is also listed, as well as KW's co-buddy. *YAY!* We were joking with CH that, it's no wonder his buddy treated the whole line to Kenny Rogers last weekend, as she knew that she did extremely well then.

So, that makes Lwk the second in the line to be an "A" student. As far as I remembered I mean. Dr. Cat, who was the graduating batch when I came in, was also one the top student. From the mouth of the elder buddies, Dr. Cat was a distinction student from her first year onwards up till her final year. How amazing is that?! Plf could also make it to become one of the distinction student I suppose, she was one of the top 7 STPM scorers in the country of her batch. But she told me before she graduated that, she just wanted to enjoy her life in medical school, so she didn't aim for any distinction or what not.

Dr. Cat sent me a text message last year after our finals result was out. "Little buddy! Congrates! I heard you're the viva distinction student."

I was surprised, and replied. "Buddy, it's not me... It'd be such a vunderful news if I'm one. LOL."

Ah well.... if only I could ever reply such text messages with "Thanks a lot! Hehehe... You have a nice day!"

Soon enough, it's the convocation season of the year again...
