About the No.1 Prosperity Food

Chap Goh Meh...

Chap Goh Meh's the oriental Valentine's, it was the tradition that single girls would write their info on the tangerine and throw them into the lakes or rivers, while the single guys would pick up the tangerines. Fate, they call it.

Me:
There's the tangerines thingy at the lake in front of Amcorp Mall!
CH: Really?! We shall drive your car! We pick up loads and loads of them tangerines!
Me: For?
CH: EAT LAH!

*faints*

Well well well... 15th day of CNY - the Chap Goh Meh. Officially it shall be the end of the CNY celebration. How sad... No more fireworks. No more bombs. No more wine. No more prosperity food. No more cute family jokes. Or the eczema talk for that matter. And no more prosperity food again. How blardy depressive! Oh how more dramatic can I go?! *sniggering*

Ah well, none of those since I came back to KL anyway. I'm a festive person mind you. I heart CNY. I heart Christmas. I heart heart heart... erm... Dumpling fest! Mooncake fest! Thanksgiving! Hannukkah! Aidil-fitri! Hari Raya Haji! Deepavali! Thaipusaaam! *LMAO* I'd say the later lots were because they're holidays. Oooops. But one way or another, I still heart them right? *sniggering* So anyway... back to my CNY. Oh wait... I mean Chap Goh Meh...

Anyways, as the closure of the entire CNY craze this month, for you can see in the archive on the side bar, that everything in February has something to do with the celebration, I shall confess what I will miss most about the festival. Well. Erm. Let me rephrase that. I shall come clean why I ever wanted to do the whole lots of CNY posts.

For I heart the festival LAH! *LMAO*

I mean, who wouldn't like it still? There's the red packet. The fireworks (again!), yea I'm just showing off to some of you who didn't have the chance to watch that. Mum's cooking - the best in the world! And all those quality time spent at home, with family and relatives and friends... And prosperity food (again!!)! You know... Things you don't just get on normal days. You wouldn't get cashew nuts just for the fun of it right?

So. Anyways... The Puppetsoldier was commenting that the no.1 prosperity food should be none other than.... *drums*

DRIED MEAT a.k.a. BAKKUA!

I shall not comment any further. Not that you don't know what it is. I mean, yea, even if you're Muslims or Hindus, you still know what they are right? Non-halal they may be, it's still like, uh, the most AUSPICIOUS prosperity food there is during CNY. You have got to agree with me on this one. *sniggering*

And so, that shall leave me ending the whole CNY mood with the opening ceremony of the Bakkua I brought over from home. Yay! To be honest, it's half gone now though. Housemies been munching, I've been munching. But there still are some out in the hall on the dining table. So do help yourself. Don't be shy. *sniggering*

By the way, Happy Chap Goh Meh everyone!

Gosh
! There are so many links! *ROFL* I think most of the CNY posts are linked. *LOL*

How can you still have anymore bahkua left!?

Here, take a change of tradition: you throw bahkua nicely wrapped in ziplock bags into the river, we're sure got ppl who'll jump in to 'rescue' it. Don't forget your name and number.
