For the Gathering I Anticipated

The medies who were 'secholian' in the first year decided to do a Chinese New Year gathering before everyone leaves for hometown on the 31st of January or the 1st of February. It was a tough decision to make as the 22 students are in this year, spread over different places, and by the different places, I mean we're not staying together in the same residential college this year. There's one big batch who moved out and rented 2 units in an apartment down the road opposite the hospital, including myself and the fellow housemies as well as the 3 girls who stayed with Dr. Tan. There're 2 who made it to become sixers this year, one moved out to stay with the sibling and the remaining stayed put. And since everyone's got different agendas, such as basketball game, table tennis competition, netball match, performance and what not, the date of the gathering were not determined until, noon time on the very day.

So, with the portions of kids divided to each the 5 drivers, we were all set. It's a gathering everyone was anticipating I presume. KW even set out to Sunway Pyramid as early as 2p.m. despite the gathering being held at 7p.m.. CH followed him and they went rumaged the mall for new year clothes. It wasn't like I didn't want to, but Sunway isn't really my place. And besides, I was assigned to pick up the girl who stayed with the sibling. Me and YL drove ourselves out to Sunway around 4.30p.m., and cars were starting to fill up the Federal Highway already. It was getting CNY-sy at the pyramid (unlike MidValley, which only did their deco tonight), with the lights and lanterns and flowers, as well as exibit of Buddha statues and drawings and chanting.

7p.m. arrived and having the J.Co donuts we bought out of curiousity, we only found out that the restaurant was actually outside the pyramid. So, the parking fees we paid and drove out again. Roads were jammed, cars turned into snails, and all the drivers turned fugly wanting to rush home. When we finally reached the restaurant, I got all excited! Guess why? Young men wearing work clothes were flocking the place, KK and I were trying to figure who were wearing G2000. Oddly enough, there's a G2K work clothes wave amongst our housemies. We did spot one handsome chap with the neat workshirt alright. To our amusement the handsome chap kept on looking at us because we kept looking at him. *LMAO* We were being bitchy with the girls from the next table as well though. So we thought it would be the later and not the former.

Anyways, there were 22 of us, therefore the needed tables of two. 3 of the medies went late as one of the girls got a netball match. I generally think it's a good place to hang out, especially when it's a big bunch of friends. We paid 22 bucks per head and we could eat our arses off. The raw stuff kept being refilled- vegetables, seafood, meats, meat balls, noodles and all those stuff I have to agree the shop is providing so generously. Not to forget the BBQ chicken wings that were gone in 1 minute, and the different flavors of ice creams, and the wide range of seafoodssss.... My God, I can never write anything proper now, that there's too much to I don't really know where to start. *LMAO*

After dinner, the crowd agreed on a midnight movie. Again, decisions. Opted Mid Valley in the end, between Game Plan featuring the muscular ex-pro wrestler or Gabriel with the hot hunky stubbled man. I haven't watched both, so either would do. But would opt for Gabriel, and did. The movie was pretty much okay, could use a thumb's up. We initially thought the ending was a bit of a spoiled, but after the holy Christians explained to us, we thought it made sense. So yeap, it's generally a good movie. Better than Cloverfield I'm sure.

So... there goes the CNY gathering. Am expecting a shopping spree again on Thaipusam. As well as bitching out with the new clique later on. Gods, we're so doomed. Yet I put on the MSN status message 'intended to study tomorrow... really!', when I know it's never going to be true. Darn.
