For the Love We Call Brotherly

It was too short a meeting alright. I'd wished for a longer one. But he's got to do some tele-conferencing, and I don't wish delay him. We bade goodbye after 20 minutes saying "Hi" to each other. And he drove off.

Alan: You better make sure you study. Don't always fool around.
Me: Yeah... of course I won't. I want to graduate alright... should be around 2011...
Alan: 2011? hmmm... might not be around then...
Me: Why? Not going overseas are you?
Alan: No, but I might already be dead.
Me: Bah... stupid.
Alan: Heh... Not, I've got a call from a friend who said he'd given too much and wanted to end his life just the other day.
Me: I see. There's so much you single bachelors can do...
Alan: Yeah... that's why I'm getting myself busy with work.
Me: And cut down on the socializing. Even with me.
Alan: I didn't know.... I thought you are always busy.
Me: You can always text me wat...
Alan: Yeah... Okay okay... now go back to your study.
Me: (smiles)
Alan: Better make sure you get good grades. Or I'll spank you good. Slap slap slap.
Me: (smiles)
Alan: Study intellegently.
Me: (smiles)
Alan: Now go. I need to get to the office.
Me: Well, okay then... See you around!
Alan: Take care!

After I got off the car, he rolled down the window.

"Make sure you eat. Don't skip your meals. You're getting thinner already."

I was earlier on sitting in front of the lap top, head spinning from the slight disruption of my biological clock. And unexpectedly, Alan called. He's got about 45 minutes to spare before going back to office and was around the neighbourhood, just wondering if I'd like to meet up for a few. As I walked towards the shoplots opposite the apartment, I was questioning why did I even agreed to go meet him, since we're drifting apart, that he's gotten even busier than the workaholic he already was. But I was glad I didn't tell him I was sleeping anyhow...

For the short meeting brought back the warmth that got me off my blues.
