On the Polyuria

= many.
= urination.
So... polyuria = excessively large production/passage of urine. Frequently associated with Diabetes Mellitus.

And just not long ago, I actually realized I've been visiting the toilet a lot. Morning after wake up, which is normal. But 2 hours later... And then 1 hour later... And another couple of hours later. I didn't recall needing to pee so often in the past. I would probably only need to pee like, once in the morning and once in the afternoon; and I actually took pride in that, that my bladder is huge and able to contain large amount of pee. And, I wasn't actually drinking a lot of water too. But now... Am I diabetic?

It worries me somewhat. The diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus would include abnormal blood test for sugar level with or without the symptoms. But the thing is, the guidelines didn't actually mention how many symptoms, as in like a checklist. (Or is there?)

The last I checked, my blood glucose is normal. Fasting is normal. 2 hours after food is normal too.

But... this isn't normal. My peeing habit.

I mean, alright, we produce 0.5ml/kg/hour of urine. So that makes about XXml in an hour (I'm not gonna tell you my weight :P) . And the average bladder could hold 450ml to 600ml of urine. So it's normal that one would pee once in the morning and once in the afternoon, sometimes even once in a whole day! Though I doubt anyone would be peeing 450ml at any one time.

But... as a matter of fact, the feeling of fullness when the urge to pee starts at just 200ml of urine. So that makes it once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Some people start peeing at 100mls even, which probably is about 3 hours in an average caucasian man.

And let's just put it that I'm about that size. Perhaps I'm actually normal.

And worried too much.
