On the Deepavali Kolam at e@Curve

I suppose it was quite a lucky that +Ant+ asked if wanted to meet up last weekend in e@Curve... I was able to witness some live free-hand drawing of a Kolam in conjunction with the International Kolam Festival. Or rather, I prefer that it was in conjunction with the Deepavali...

We were in the 3rd floor where the cinema was located then... And the unfinished kolam looked huge... and very pretty... So after our movies when we came out again, we saw quite some progress, but still unfinished.

I didn't stay long enough to see the entire end-product. But I came across some photos from e@Curve's Facebook page...

It looked amazing. And so pretty and colorful and just... awesome... So I was keen to head back to the mall to see the end-product myself...

So....

Fast forward 3 days later, when I was there this morning, I thought I would able to see the huge kolam for myself. But guess what I was greeted with?

The Kolam was gone... GONE!!!! And replaced with all sorts of Halloween decoration. Bats. Polysterine tombstone. Polysterine zombies. Polysterine dead trees...

Kolam... GOOOONNNEEEE!!!??!?!?! On Deepavali day itself!?!

So...

Deepavali is not as important as Halloween?

But why don't we have public holiday for Halloween here?

UGH!! *stomp feet*

Anyways... That aside, have a good holiday everyone.

And for the Hindu readers out there, if there are any, Happy Deepavali!
