On the Hunt for Traditional Chinese Wear

For Grandpa's 91 year old grand birthday, we wanted to buy a traditional Chinese wear for him. The last I recalled, when I first bought mine a couple of years back in Sunway, there was always a shop or something that is specialized in selling all these Cheongsam and what nots in the malls. So we headed out to OneUtama when the parents were in KL during Christmas. To our horror, the clothes were... way beyond our budget.

So... with some help from Google search, we ended up here.

The last time the parents came was more than 10 years back when we first had our family trip to KL. Lots have changed. Major refurbishment was done on this place. Mum and Dad certainly was impressed. And we were even more impressed when the Burmese worker said there's more design to choose from upstairs.

So there we were, choosing a suitable one for Grandpa's big day. I tried out the clothes for him as I'm about the same size as grandpa. And before we knew it, we actually thought we'd bought some for ourselves as well! So both Dad and I spent more time on choosing a suitable clothes for ourselves rather than for Grandpa. LOL.

Now that the guys have got theirs, the ladies too thought it'd be great to join in the fun. That was when Mum and Sis too started looking for some tops. Sis ended up with a nicely designed top, while Mum decided not to buy anything because none actually looked nice on her, or so said by Dad. But Mum's got a few piece of tailor-made Cheongsam which was made for Chinese New Year and dinners as night gowns.

So now that's set, we're off to go to Grandpa's 91 birthday celebration tonight, clad in traditional Chinese wear. LOL.

Dude, don't forget to show us your picture that you wear the shirt you bought. Just wonder how you look in this kind of outfit.

They should sell traditional garb that have a slimmer cut. I find them too frumpy.
