I've always wanted the traditional Chinese wear, the long robes that goes up till the ankle. It was only when I Wiki-ed that I knew it is called Changshan.
So when we actually went to look for the traditional attire in Central Market not long ago, I actually pulled out the red-yellow changshan three times after browsing through all the available menswear. But still the desire was in vain. Somehow, it just didn't seem appropriate, at this part of the world. If only I'm in somewhere Chinese populated. Then again, I suppose it's still odd. Maybe I should only wear it during my wedding. Then no one would say anything.
Which reminds me, I think my cousin-in-law really did! He was clad in green changshan, while my cousin sister in matching cheongsam. Hmm... Now that's an idea. LOL.
Anyways, we actually ended up with the more commonly seen. Dad was contemplating between the blue-with-yellow-prints like what those MCA people wear during their CNY open house and another one which are double ply, wearable inside out, of red and yellow. In the end, he opted for the later. Me on the other hand, opted for a similar design, but of black and yellow.
Let's just see how thing's gonna turn out at the dinner! :P
