Apparently, the medical books market is still quite under-developed in the city. All the medical students in town flock to just one shop nearby the general hospital for reference books. That being said, it got up into popularity not because it's the only medical bookstore in town, we could always go to the major bookstore i.e. Borders or Kinokuniya, but rather we get the books in slightly discounted price there. In fact, the owner would just give us 10 to 20 bucks off whenever we pay.
There's no specific discount tags or anything, but the owner just give discount anyhow he likes. Which was why, sometimes I wonder too, why there are discrepency on the price tags even.
But then again, it's still the only bookstore we go to since the past 5 years, and many more to come.
What's more with the mushrooming medical schools in the country, this shop probably makes a lot more in a few more years.

kamal at hkl is a rip-off. the only wise thing to do is bring one of your flirty female friends to do the bargaining. it's puzzling how my moustache seems to turn them off...
