On the Un-ironed Shirts

Having had 3 weeks experience of waking up at 0630 to be in the ward by 645, I've noticed one thing amongst them house officers and medical officers.

Due to to the long working hours, it's only understandable that everyone got home just to collapse onto the bed. Weekends are practically non-existence. And there's only 12 days leave per year. PER YEAR!!! This is seriously breaching the international labour law! And with that, a lot of them house officers and junior medical officers come in with crumpled shirts.

But that aside, the older specialists apparently come in neatly dressed. More time at home probably? Because they don't have to run in and out to trace the blood results or book the operation theaters for the next amputations...

Or... probably they're all married and they've got wives at home ironing their shirts for them. Because the bachelors fully fit this explanation. LOL.

Then again, I go to class without ironed shirts as well. Because we've got a white coat to cover all those 'wrinkles' up. LOL.

It will only be a complete solution if you button up the front of the coat.
