A few weeks back, there was a fire drill, at 1 a.m. that was. A lot of my batch mates were complaining on facebook, super annoyed with the loud alarm and what nots.
2 days later, we saw this news cuttings pasted on the notice board.
A total of 311 residents in the hostel were burnt. Out of the 751 residents in the hostel, only 288 survived the 'fire'. 152 were not in the hostel.
Now now, I wondered where the missing residents were. A group of 20 was in Banting alright, But that still didn't explain the remaining missing one. LOLs.
I of course, survived the fire. I was at home. LOL.
That being said, it's indeed saddening that a lot of us are not taking these fire drills seriously.

last time we had a "fire drill" in our department and a man staff thought it was real.. he was standing at the edge of the building when they told him it was a hoax.. unfortunately, he died bec he was asthmatic.. after that, i heard his family was compensated..
wow... that was very serious...
even if you are serious about fire drills, when the actual one comes many will still be very panic and mess things up..

Usually, it is not the fire that kills people. It's the smoke. Died because CO2 poisoning first.
I nearly died in a fire last year... house wiring got problem, short circuit... enuff said... I dowan to discuss traumatic things.. later wil get PTSD! ( I think I still have PTSD!)
