I guess it was really lucky of me that I was in town during the Singapore Arts Festival 2010. Had the opportunity to watch a few live performances from different parts of the world in the Flipside Festival which was held in conjunction with the arts festival. Was really amused with this Japanese tapdancer group called Sushi Tapdo...
They were amazing at first. Imagine those legs!
But as the music became faster, the show became more amusing. And in the end, it turned out to be a comedy play which was, pretty amazing.
They did not only incorporate tap dancing, but I suppose they've got pretty good circus-like-performance skills as well. LOL
Went through the Esplanade to find there's another Korean artiste performing double-guitars with numerous tracks. Very talented indeed. Earlier on, there was a group of Pinoy performing some comedy in the public as well.
Friend said thanks to all these free live performances that the whole place was liven up. Otherwise it was also pretty dead. Then again, after going through the showtime for the Singapore Arts Festival, I really do wonder, how many people actually pay for these shows? I mean, fine, they're theatres and all, but somehow, theatres still come way more expensive than normal movies in the cinema.
True enough, only developed nations have theatres and Arts Festival because they've got the quality of life which allowed them to enjoy themselves so much. But considering we're not really that all so rich a person, whatever requiring payment would still led us to think twice, no?
Anyways, it was a great night out at the Esplanade alright. Literally did laughed my arse off. LOL
