On Changing Surnames

Mum and Dad came visit a few weekends back. And the first thing they complained was how hot it was in PJ. It wasn't before long that both of them had the aircon in the hotel blasting at the lowest temperature before they regained from their weariness after walking in the malls.

While they were here, Mum did some simple laundry as well. It was a Saturday I remembered, and it was a very sunny one too. Going out in the sun at 2pm would literally mean you going for a suntan, even just for a while. Looking out of the window alone is enough to keep us in the hotel room glued to the Astro.

So while Mum was washing in the wash room, she said, "I'm gonna wash some shirts and put them up to dry. If still doesn't dry I'll change my surname."

She washed, and hung them clothes up to dry.

But I suppose it's not something nice to be so overconfident, more so when it regards the weather in the city. Just as she hung up the clothes, the sky turned dark.

And she "Sheeeeeeeeet!"

* * *

Fast forward to the next morning, the clothes were still a bit cold and wet. As we were going out for breakfast, she said she'd just leave them clothes hanging again out in the balcony. "If this time still doesn't dry, under that scorching heat, I no need to have my surname XXXX anymore."

So we went out to the mall, not realizing it became cloudy outside. By the time we came back in the evening, the clothes were still damp.

And I said, "Mum, how many times you need to change your surname?"

"Aiya... Change ma change. I also become Bong lor."

LOL.
