On the Name that Shouldn't Be

I'm not sure if you've ever received an email as such where there were English surnames that were fixed to a certain surnames, making the end product something just so wrong. I vaguely remembered just a couple, Monica Cheng and Annie Sui. Didn't seem wrong on the first read, but as you read them for the second time, you'd know what I mean. That's if you're Hokkien Chinese.

[Mo-ni-ka-cheng means touch your butt; A-ni-sui means 'so unlucky']

So months ago in the cinema, I came across something even more unappropriate.

Sorry really. Perhaps those of the other race didn't know what it 'double pet' means in our native family slang. But as far as I know, pardon my language, I thought it means vahjayjay.

Again, no bad intentions here. Just thought of sharing.

Then again, I'm thinking of Billa should I ever have an English name, though I have no idea what Billa means. But it sure sound cool, albeit weird, Billa Bong. LOL.

P/S: Finally got a list on FB:-Why Chinese shouldn't have Christian names:
Anne Chang > > (Mandarin)-Dirty
Carl Cheng> > (Hokkien) - Buttock
Monica Cheng> > Hokkien) - Touching your buttocks
Lucy Leow> > (Hokkien) - You are dead
Suzie Leow> > (Hokkien) - Lost till death
Paul Chan> > (Mandarin) - Bankrupt
Nelson Tan> > (Mandarin) - Bird laying eggs
Carmen Teng > > (Hokkien) - Leg hair long
Danny See > > (Hokkien) - Squeeze you to death
Pete Tsai> > (Hokkien) - Nose droppings
Macy Koh> > (Cantonese) - Never die before
