It all started with disbelieve. And you still thought there was a chance it's all a mistake. It wasn't true. Maybe it's just a dream that you'll wake up from, and just realize it's just a dream... You didn't want to accept the fact. You were in denial.
And then the anger kicks in. Why you? How could this happen to you? This is just not fair! You shouldn't be the one! Why why why?!
But slowly, you accepted the fact. So it's true. You couldn't wake up, you're already awake. And you had to accept it. Pain it may be. But what could you do? You felt so lost and helpless and it's kicking in real bad. And you felt numb. Maybe, just maybe you could go find out what really happened first. And you could still turn it around. You'd do anything to reverse the facts. Anything. Even if that means sacrificing other things, even your own life...
Over the days, as the turmoil soften away, you finally see. It is you. It wasn't a dream. And you couldn't do anything about it anymore. You became so depressed and so sad. You lose hope. And you began to wonder if you should just give up. You've tried so hard, and you feel really tired. And giving up seems like just the best option.
And it was finally some time later you accepted it. You need to find ways to overcome this feeling, this grief, this disappointment... Stand up and live the rest of your life. What's the point grieving for so long and torture yourself? It happens. You cannot control it.
The Kübler-Ross model, commonly known as the five stages of grief, was first introduced by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross in her 1969 book, On Death and Dying. The five stages of griefs are: 1. Denial, 2. Anger, 3. Bargaining, 4. Depression and 5. Acceptance. This post is not based on the original book, but rather the author's modification.
