On taking a breather...

"WALAU! Fournier's gangrene!!!"
"Was it Toxoplasma?"

"It's not Malaria???"
"Common things come first wat... AIDS patient wor..."

"I think I screwed up my osmolality station..."
"I gave up that one also... Could be HONK, asking us to count wor.."
"Blardy hell, I go and put DKA instead."

"Aaargh! I can't even know what are the indications for forceps!!!"
"Cincai larr... I screwed up my PCM stations..."
"Maaan! It was not IVU??"

"I thought that was staghorn?"
"Know what I said? It was a surgical clip. Die."

16 stations, 1 rest stations. Each stations 5 minutes. Students are required to answer the questions provided at each stations within 5 minutes based on the guides provided by the specimens prepared.

Questions are derived from anything in the curriculum, in the field of internal medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, forensic medicine, medical microbiology, parasitology, primary care medicine.

Questions are asked in the form of theory and interactive. Theory questions involve writing answers in the answer scripts provided, based on specimens such as photographs, medical equipments, x-rays or ECGs. Interactive questions will involve communications with a stimulated patient while the examiners mark on the spot.

Bells will be rang once after the end of 5 minutes and students are given 10 seconds to move to the next station. Bells rang twice indicating the end of the exam.

Students are to move to the following questions following the signs a.k.a. placard placed along the pathway. Invigilators will be available to guide the students.

Yes ladies and gentlemen, this is the objective structured clinical examination, or commonly known as OSCE. It's a one and a half hour paper where all, ALL, if not more than half, of the students, will nearly forget even his own name halfway through the exam all. Adrenaline were sky rocketing. It would be excitement and euphoric if you know the answers...

But seeing the conversations above, how did you think we fare?

And I said, "All I wished for, is to at least score 5 out of 10 in 15 stations and 6 out of 10 in one of the stations."

Yes I was that desperate to pass... God, save me... God, save us all.... *kneeling down*

Please dedicate your prayer for me... pretty pretty pleaseee....

ps: photo's NOT me. Some chinese guy in the Chinese medical school. Maybe China. Maybe Taiwan. I'm surprised they can bring in camera.

I had never met a person who loves studying and exams so much like Michi. I am not bragging that she scores As in all subjects while I always failed with red eggs.
