He's exactly right. One week to the exam, and we're at the end of our internal medicine posting, and I still couldn't come up with the answers in a snap.
"What's the diagnostic criteria of nephrotic syndromme?"
"Er..."
"At this time you're still scratching your head ah? End of posting already you know? Next week is your exam. You should have already known the facts by heart already. It should be coming out from you like this this this without even need to think. So?"
"Err... presence of blood in the urine?"
"WHAT?!??!??!!"
I can't think! The whole class looking at me! What am I suppose to say? Colleague sitting next to me said blood, so I blurted out blood too. And true enough, I was vomitted on with blood.
"If this is your exam question ah, I'll see you again next year. How can that be your answer? Nephrotic syndrome. Not nephritic syndrome. You know the difference between this two or not?"
And he pointed to the colleague next to me. "Serum albumin less than 30 gram per litre."
Yes! Correct! You all ah, this simple basic things, you all should know already. How can you sit for your exam like this? Your final is just 2 months away you know? The other day I marked your seniors' paper, and all these sort of simple basic question came out, and they cannot even answer with the keywords. I want to help also cannot help. You know why? Because you all don't do output learning. I'm sure you study, but you didn't discuss, how much can you remember? Zero! I'm really disapointed lor.
Yalor yalor. I'm also very disappointed. So no face to even go to your next class. So how?
How? How? How? How? How? How? How? How? How??

You expected this response from me , right? :P lolz
+Ant+

No need to panic. Deep breaths. Just start reading now.
have a lot of sex first...then u should be able to concentrate~ ;P
hmmm.... dude need to start study lor .... :p
Don't be last minutes .... :p
Ant, yes i understand.
Leumas, don't worry, i'm not treating u.
Savante, panicking!
Queen B, sex? huh?
TZ, sigh... last minute...
This lecturer is pretty intense :p
Is the person who questioned you that diva professor you mentioned in one of your previous posts? I hope it's not! : )
My advice - just study and study and study like mad, then discuss what you study with your colleagues. No short cut to be a good doctor. Good luck! : )
JL, all of them are in fact. :(
Foong, different one dy... all of them are like that lor.
weii!!....stop playing around and get serious on your study or i'll spank you!
Follow is advice. After studying, discuss. Practise your verbal output as well as input. We believe you can do it!
worry not, when it comes to exam, you will do your revision and you will have the answer when you are quietly by yourself~~ all the best :)
I just had a rough start to the week as well.
Exams in a month. Yet I am committing cardinal crimes.
A lecturer said I will FAIL if I continue chitchatting with patients so much; straying far far away =(
hmm I also got a nephrOtic syndrome today leh ...
Oops, I forgot.
I have full confidence in you lah.
Just chill. And mug like there's no tomorrow! =)
And erm, go for night-calls every other day (like the shite I am in now)
Try applying what u know in real life situations. Afterall, there's only so much u can remember.
Or perhaps u could watch more medical tv series like House or ER. As they're going thru their diagnosis & stuff, u could try answering wat is the cause & medication b4 the actors solve it.
Paul J, whoa... so garang today. haha
Ban, thanks for the confidence. I'll do my best and be the best! (as if)
[SK], hopefully it'll be like that lor. :S
J my bradder! thanks for the confidence in me ler. same boat same boat. haha. but i'm sure u're better than me lar. top student wor... me hor, struggling to pass ony. definitely not going for night-rounds. blek. :P even day-rounds also lazy to go. but every other time i had fun at the ward la. i came back feeling fulfilled, but then, the motivation is not there. :(
Perky, tried that method lor. ER doesn't really help. House does. but their cases are really really like, rare. you can't even think of it one. i mean, it's common, but it manifest in such a different way. lol
the fastest way to learn is to study in a group asking questions plus go out into the field. split the time. do both. go with seniors or any other docs who willing to teach u. practicals makes u remember better. u better be serious lor. start now.
Just keep reading .. somehow it will come out right that day. I know there are alot to cover ... just one day at a time... u can do it.
Try teaching it to someone else .... and u will remember it better
All the best man
Koala, thanks for the advice. :) i'll try my best. thanks!
Sbanboy, yes, i'll start slowly. keeping my fingers crossed i'll be well prepared before the finals... thanks! :)
chillax!!! now you are making me nervous already... shit i think my will damn weak lor... now i dont feel like taking medicine anymore... coz the years alone are eating me up form the inside... crap crap crap crap
eh how ar....
oops this is about you not me >.<~~
anyway, if u are that far now, the 2 months' practices would be enough for you to ace ur finals lar...
lastly,
CHILLAX!!!
nyak nyak~~
dun think i can help u with anything but just cheer for u la...add oil :) n drink less ;p
its not that u nvr study but u r just plain stupid.an idiot to be precise

Binn, then don't. :)

Anon, thanks for the enlightenment. Next time round i'm sure you'll know who are the stupid doctors.
I think we make good friends! i always studied last minutes and mum always freaked out that I would fail for partying 24/7. She doesn't know how I passed anyway.
