On a Diva Consultation

"Am I taking you all?"

She trotted into the tutorial rooms with this preceeding aura. She was dressed in red, all red. Short hair, pearl earings, light lipstick, specs, Couch handbag. Not someone you want to mess with. She's one of the prominent consultants in the nation, quite a priviledge to be taught by her if you ask me.

Rumors had it that she wasn't really student-friendly. I suppose at the level where you're called a "Proffesor" instead of "Doctor", you're qualified enough to be super bitchy with the students. So yeah, I guess all of us were pretty anxious what her teaching pattern will be like.

Each of us prepared a case, since she's bound to pick anyone to present a case in front of the class. I prepared quite an interesting one of course, a young man with hepatitis C, I'm sure medies out there would know what I mean.

I wasn't picked, unfortunately.

So when the discussions came, she finally revealed what people said about her.

"What? The other doctors taught you to say all these? No no no, don't listen to them, listen to me. I'll go talk to them in the next meeting."

"You all must have the confidence to speak like one! Even if it's all bullshit, you'll still impress those who listened to you."

I so totally adored her. Maybe for now.

"If I see you again in UH and you're still performing like how you are now, I'm going to scream at you."

See what I mean?

my edu lecturer said the same thing too. he told us; next time when you guys go for teaching, you must dress, walk and speak with confidence. that's one way to impress your students, eventhough they might be smarter than you. LOL!
